About Brandilyn Farm
WELCOME  TO BRANDILYN FARM, home to Brandilyn Farm Alpacas.  We are breeding the greatest treasures
on earth - ALPACAS!

LET US INTRODUCE ourselves, we are Bill and Donna Jaruzel.  Bill has worked for GM for about 25 years and I
(Donna) have been an Administrative Manager and/or in management of some sort for 30 years.  In February
2009 we became a full time alpaca farm!

IN THE FALL of 2004 we moved from a very suburban location to a rural area of Oakland County, in the small
picturesque town of Holly, MI.  A few months earlier we had found a beautiful parcel of rolling hills and flat land
that came with it's own pond and lake frontage.  We bought it and quickly got started building our new home.  I
breed English Cocker Spaniels under the Brandilyn prefix and had to many dogs in my suburban home then
what was allowed in the city we were living in, which was the reason for the move.  But, once we moved it
tacked on an extra 70 minute drive to my commute to and from work.  I can't tell you how much I disliked that
drive.  I was determined to find something I could earn a living from closer to home or from my home.  Enter
alpacas.  The fall of 2005 I discovered alpacas through the Internet.  I researched these animals for months.
Early spring 2006 I was starting to visit farms, dragging my friend with me since my husband had thought I had
lost my mind.  By July I was ready for my own alpacas but I still had to convince my husband of it.  We were on
vacation in Northern MI and we were taking a tour of one of the larger farms.  A female had delivered her cria
while we were there.  Shortly
afterwards the owner of the farm picked the cria
up and handed her to my husband.  I'm sure it
was that moment that soften my husband up
enough to give alpacas a try.  We bought our
first alpacas, two weanling males in August of
2006.  Our next package was bought in
November of the same year.  A beautiful yearling
suri male and a bred suri female with her cria.  It
was at that time I fell in love with suris and
decided they would be the main focus of our
breeding program.

IT IS NOW spring of 2010 and it has been a very
interesting four years.  We've been working very
hard to make our alpaca farm prosper and grow.
In the three years we've been involved in alpacas
we've managed to sell sixteen alpacas.  We are
now brokering alpacas for other farms and have
managed to sell a few of them.  I am determined to make this a viable way to make a living.  We've set our
goals and we're working towards obtaining them.

OUR FARM CONSIST of about five acres of rolling hills and flat land pastures circling around a pond.  We
rotate our alpacas from one pasture to another during the warmer months, which helps to keep them lush and
green.
WE BREED FOR true suri and huacaya phenotype and offer both at
reasonable prices to this industry we love.  We breed for all colors,
from whites, browns, blacks, and grays.  We believe the quality of the
fiber is more important then the color, so we are concentrating on
breeding better fiber on our alpacas every year.

WE ARE A small farm and take pride in knowing that we "go that
extra mile" for our clients.  We supply superb customer service for all
our clients, before, during, and after a sale.  Our clients have
become our friends - we keep in contact with phones and the Internet.

WE WELCOME YOU to come out and take a stroll through our
pastures and visit with our friendly alpacas.  We have both suris and
huacayas.  I prefer the twisted locks of the suris and my husband
likes the fluffiness of the huacayas.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG here in Michigan!  All the trees are budding out.  In a few more weeks those buds will be
opening and a new growing season will have started here in the glorious state of Michigan.  The birds are all
migrating back from their southern winter grounds.  The sounds of spring can be heard as soon as you step
outside.  The sandhill cranes have started their mating dances out in our pastures.  They are fascinating to
watch!  And here at Brandilyn Farm the birthing season has started early this year with the birth of our first
2010 cria!  He is a handsome white suri male cria out of our beautiful part accoyo female, Misty Inspiration.  He
is very spunky and weighed in at 17 pounds.  This is Ric Roc's, our Full Peruvian white herdsire, first offspring!
We are very excited to see him finally arrive!  Now we have to think of a GREAT name for him.  Keep checking
back to find out what we come up with!
